Community Service Club supports NKLA!

One of our 2018 grant recipients, NKLA, doing great work.  The $3,000 we donated helps support great events like their Super Adoption fair, where over 500 dogs and cats found loving homes.  Keep up the great work NKLA!

SMILE DAY!

This was a day, back in October, dedicated to creating a positive school climate by getting students to focus on things that make them smile.  What makes YOU smile?

Final Meeting for the 2016-2017 School Year

Our final meeting was a blast.  It's always fun giving organizations money to support the great work they do.  Mr. Springer was there to accept the check for Pug Nation LA.  The other two organizations, No Kill LA and Biologists Without Borders could not be there.  All three organizations that were chosen by students were animal organizations.  Enjoy the pictures below.

WE Day!

WE Day was held at The Forum in Inglewood this year on April 27.  What a great day of celebrating all the great things people are doing in the world.  We raised $2,000 this year for WE to contribute towards clean water projects in different countries around the the world.   We also got to see Alicia Keys perform and hear motivational talks from Selena Gomez, Layla Ali and many others.  What a great day!

Coin War!

This year we created a new fundraiser for us called Coin War.  All 3 grades competed against each.  6th and 7th graders were competing to take the Quad away from 8th graders during lunch one day and chance to buy pizza and have music playing.  8th graders were defending their turf.  The 6th graders got off to a slow start and in the final 2 days came on strong and won Coin War.  Congrats to the 6th graders.  We raised over $1,800 for charity and the 6th graders had a blast in the Quad.

Hot Coco Sales are sweet!

We've been celebrating the cool weather by selling hot chocolate once a week.  We're trying to reach our $20,000 fundraising goal and could use every penny.  Get your hot chocolate for $2 every Wednesday morning before school.  Money goes to local and global charities.  Thanks!
